Worried about my size - any advice / experience?

Hi all

I'm a little worried that my bump / baby is not big enough. Up until last week I was measuring pretty much bang on weeks for CMs but last week (at nearly 32 weeks) I was only measuring 30 cms.

I asked midwife about size before as was concerned I was small but she said it's just the way I'm carrying (all over not just at the front) and that I'm keeping it compact which is good.

Anyone else feel a bit the same or measured a bit under? Will I just have a spurt at some point? With only 7-8 weeks to go I'm a little concerned baby is small.

Thanks for any advice

hi, I've always measured small (like you, I measured 30 at 32 wks)
I'm having growth scans anyway cos of high bp and bubs is actually on the top percentile thingy, which leads me to believe that the old fundal height stuff is a load of rubbish lol.
x

Hi Hun, Ive said in other threads im not impressed by FH atall! at 28 weeks my FH was measuring over 29 weeks but i went 3d scan and growth scan at the weekend because I wanted to see how she was doing (im 32 weeks now) and she was actually measuring a week behind at 31 weeks, I was worried at first but im ok now, as I know there is around a 2 week error margin now and to be honet I think FH is an indicator not an exact science I have known ladies whose FH was measuring 4 weeks ahead so their MW sent them to get agrowth scan at the hospital and the the baby was bang on target. It is also an idictor of how big your uterus is not the baby. Try not to worry as I did, if the professionals are happy you should try to be too! Im sure your bup is lovely. Hugs x

Thanks all - good to know I'm not alone in this.

Karlielkc - thought I was doing well with the stretchies (none so far) but maybe it's all to come - worth it though :-)

Hi hon - I measured right on until 28ish weeks and since then I have been about 3-4 cm behind. Now I am almost 41 weeks and measure 36 but they say the baby is over 8lbs! So you are not alone and unless your doctor is concerned I am sure everything is just fine!
