Birth Plans

Was just wondering what everyones birth plans are?

I'm hoping to have my LO in hospital with my OH there, gonna have gas and air to start with until the pain gets too much then, if it's not too late, have an epidural. Unless by some miracle I don't feel like I need one in which case I'll stick to gas and air.

Mine is relatively simple: c section for me, hopefully at end of week 38 or in week 39. DB will be there throughout.
I'm not happy about a lot of the things I've heard about c section procedures here so I need to talk with my doc - I dont want baby taking away for a bath beofre i cuddle him (baby is usually whisked away after i've been briefly shown him, I DONT want this, and I want DB to cut the cord (which they dont always offer). I might have a battle on my hands but i really want to get my own way with this!!

im kind of just taking each step at a time..

im going to hosp..(i know tht much) im not adverse to anything pain relief wise but im am absolutely hopelessley petrified of the epidural, I will do as I did last time and go with as much as an open mind as possible, and will "suck it and see" so to speak....if im ok ill try and use gas and air, if not then ill prob be shouting from the roof tops.."drugs give me god damn drugs" lol

oh will be there and he WILL feel my pain lol

Im going to find out tomorrow I guess!

If Im induced I think Ill have an epidural

If Im not, Ill have a water birth (theyre back on!!!!) if possible and gas and air.

I don't want to be cut, and I want Matt to hold the baby first. He doesn't want to cut the cord either.

Thats about it. Pretty much just going with the flow.

mine will be the same as with my son, it was a very quick labour after my waters broke (just 3 hours) no time for an epidural.

wait until waters break then start with gas and air, DH will be there, ill have skin to skin straight away and breastfeed within the first half an hour.

i dont want an epidural and i dont want more than 3 people in the room at a time.

if my last labour was anything to go by there should be no reason for an epidural and it should all happen relitivaly quickly!

i would prefer to have a fairly natural birth (fingers crossed i wont need an epi needle in my spine doesnt appeal) ild like to use gas and air. i want baby placed straight on to my chest and want to breastfeed (try to) as soon as poss. DH wants to cut the cord. ild like to be left alone as soon as possible after birth for us to bond as a fmaily. if for any reason i cant hold the baby i want DH to hold him first xxx

Well I'm going to be in hospital. I had hoped to stay at home for as long as possible before hand but had a positive strep b test so will have to go as soon as labour starts or my waters break. I also had hoped to use their birthing pool but again I'm not sure if I'll be allowed if I'm on a drip.

I plan to use as little pain relief as I possibly can. Mostly beause I don't like the side effects or the idea of having a needle stuck in my back. I want OH there but I don't know if he will be. Mostly I think I'll wait and see what happens.

Well, I tried to give the plan to the MW today and she just looked at me like I was stupid and said that the hospital 'doesn't honor birth plans' as 'anything can change/happen'.
