Well sitting on it with your legs apart and gyrating is a great one for opening the pelvis and helping with engagment. Leaning over it so you can let you belly relax is another.

Check this website for tips on optimal fetal positioning

Can you lean your belly on it? Ive not tried that yet cos I was worried it'd put too much pressure on baby. Might have a go though.

Thanks for the link, I'll try that cos I had a problem with positioning with DD so am trying to avoid another CS for THAT reason again.

No dont put your belly on it you get on your knees and drape your arms and chest over it and let your belly swing IYKIWM.

It is really comfy! You might want to put a pillow under your knees though, as your knees can start to hurt. I like to sit on the ball with my legs apart and swivel around with my hips. That helps relieve pelvic pressure and helps you open up. You can also do pelvic tilts on it to help baby get into right position. It's also a great tool to help dialate in labor.

I've been told to sit with my legs apart and rock my pelvis forward and backward. Then rock my pelvis side to side, and then to try and circle my hips in both directions. I had a bit of a stiff bum the day after I first used it Obviously hadn't been using those muscles in a while!

That over the ball position is quite comforatable, but I'd second the call for a cushion under your knees! I do that one in front of the TV some nights My boobs sometimes get a bit sore from it if I do it too long, but then I'm an F cup

I should say I'm using the ball to alleviate coccyx pain from an old fracture, but the exercises the physio gave seem to be the same that people are given to help the baby engage!
