Suspicious CTG - anyone know what this means

Wonder if anyone can shed any light on CTG's. I had fetal heart rate monitoring 2 weeks ago and my notes say 'suspicious ctg' which resulted in having a doppler scan which was 'normal'.
I'm 31 weeks and still don't feel much movement so yesterday had another ctg which was also 'suspicious' and I've got to go back to hospital for a further ctg and scan today.

Does anyone know what happens if is is 'suspicious' again? Midwife said not to worry about it until results today and they will discuss a plan with me if necessary - just worried about what the plan might be.

could be down to the baby having a small heart murmer or something like that which is harmless in most cases, your best to talk to the person writing it on your notes though

When my waters went I was sent home to see if it happened naturally within 24 hours. I had become obsessed with movement over the past few weeks, and I don't know why. When I came home I was very aware how much movement had decreased and took myself back in. I was monitored all night. The problem with mine was there were not enough accelerations in the trace with the odd dip. They like to see a pattern of these. I don't know if it it that hun, but that's what mine was. Please let us know how you get on, and please if you have decreased movements tell them, I cannot stress this enough. x

CTGs are basically a trace of the fetal heart and can be classed as Normal/Reassuring, Suspicious or Pathalogical here in the UK. Normal CTGs have a baseline within the normal 110-160bpm, with good variability, accelerations and no decelerations. A suspicious trace is just that, suspicious because one of the features in that trace is either not present or outside the normal paramters. Doesn't automatically mean there is something wrong with the heart either. Certainly, Dopplers, regular growth scans are used to monitor alongside your baby's traces to keep an eye on him/her.
