still measuring small!

Hey Ladies,

I posted a thread about 3 weeks ago about me measuring small needing an ultrasound because my placenta bloodflow didn't look good and baby was on the small side. Had another ultrasound and placenta looked okay but baby still on the small side.

So now just came from my appt and my belly is still measuring small im not sure how small but I've gained 6lbs! Yay! Since last month only gained 1lb so me & my doctor were happy about that but after my 32 week visit she wants me to start going to the hospital twice a week to check on babys heartrate she says their signs to show if baby may need to be born early. So now im worried again!!

Anyone else been through the hospital twice a week routine? How does that go? She says ill be hooked on a monitor for half an hour. But twice a week! Gosh it sounds scary

I'm really sorry that you're so worried!

You know, I sometimes think that modern medicine enables us to do too many things in a way. In the old days, people just had their babies and they were either big, small, or in-between and that was that. I'm not saying it isn't great in diagnosing illnesses and things that can be helped, but maybe your baby is just a little guy? What's the rest of the family like, size-wise?

You don't look small to me in your avatar picture. I'm measuring small, but they did an ultrasound and my boy was measuring just fine.
Sounds like they'll just hook you up and monitor you at the hospital. It's basically a belt that goes on the belly and they get heart rate and movement recordings. Better safe then having them dismiss it and find out later there was a problem.

Hey! I have the same problem as of today only earlier. I had a 28 scan this morning and they said smt about the placenta blood flow not being normal and the baby being on the small side.

After researching quite a lot I realised its not smt serious but they need to keep an eye on it in case they need to deliver baby a bit earlier. I am going again in 4 weeks. Can I ask how big your baby was when they said it was on the small side?

My mom had all healthy sized babies I was 8lb 2oz. Her first was 7lb 11oz and the last 8lb 4oz. And were all "regular" sized. Im petite pre-pregnancy 115 im 5"5 so my doctor said maybe that's why my baby is small because im small but she's just concerned so of course im going to be concerned. Im happy she's keeping an eye on things and hopefully ill have a fullterm baby!

But my moms side of the family we have a lot of heavy set people, regular sized, pretty mixed up. But my dads side all skin & bones really haha. Im not sure about the father of baby I don't talk to him

Mine is exactly 2lbs 8oz as well today!! What a coincidence. From what I've read it seems normal. Not sure why they think its not? :S

And I'm very tall so was expecting a bigger baby!

Yeah im not sure either. I was 27w 4d & 28w 4d. Maybe the days matter but also it could be the measurement of the babys limbs or head maybe not just weight? Idk.
