Baby activity before labour?

Is it true that bubs is supposed to calm down just before birth or is that just a myth? Hoping so as he has been so active this morning I don't think he will ever appear!

Yeah I'd like to know whether this is actually true, it's meant to be that they are saving up energy for the birth.. but you never know with all these little things they say..

How overdue are you now Bev??

Yes,they say the baby becomes very quiet with regards to movement in preparation for birth. You blood pressure will also go up considerably.

I doubt it's the case for everybody as everyone has a different experience of labour and every baby is different. However, the day I went into labour I didn't actually know I was in labour but had been ill and was really worried because bubs hadn't moved at all that day or the night before - Was SO relieved when they hooked me up to a monitor at hospital and I could hear the baby's heart beat and see that I was indeed having really strong contractions... in hindsight I can't believe I didn't know I was in labour; I was having intense contractions with no gap between and my waters had broke - there's not many more signs your body can give you that your baby might be on the way, other than the head popping out!! lol

He was due on Saturday - so 3 days today - I'm not too bothered - he obviously isn't ready to come out yet! Got an appointment for Friday for a sweep, so if nothing has happened by then hopefully that will get things started

If it is true that they go quite - then how long do they go quiet for before labour starts? I think if my LO stops moving I'll just panic!

I thought in general the movement slowed down towards the end? Then when they run out of space, that's when they come?
