Nappies/Diapers - what are you going to be using?

After a lot of consideration, I've made my mind up about what kind of nappies we're going to be using on Ollie's bum

Okay, so I've just started out with this voyage...but I bought a trial OSFA nappy online, and then decided I liked the sample so much I'd get 5 more. Might get a few more after these when the funds are available...

We've been given about a month's worth of newborn disposable nappies, but after those run out we will be using the OSFA nappies during the day, and using disposables at night and if we're out and about.

What is everybody else going to be using? xx

If anybody's confused as to what I mean by OSFA (one size fits all), it's a modern cloth nappy with a waterproof outer and a fleece inner, with a pocket for an absorbent insert Pic below -

I think we're going to solely stick to disposable nappies but we'll get rid of them the best way we can when changing babys bum!

Do the nappies you're getting come in a range of colours?

We're definitely going 100% disposable. I think its nice that some people want to go reusable, but it's not for us.

We're doing the cloth thing to save money It's expensive to make the initial payments when buying all the nappies (so far have spent 70 though on 6 nappies so not too bad! Could be worse!), but once that's out of the way I'm sure it will save us loads seeing as disposables are like $15 for a pack of 30 Three days worth for a newborn!!

They do indeed Some companies have nicer patterns than others, some are just plain. The ones I've got are just plain - I've got one lime green and the other five are an aqua blue colour. But I've seen some with Spongebob on them even

i liked the idea of using re-usable nappes but with the disposable inserts. But now im going with disposable huggies it seemed like harder work and i know it sounds selfish on the enviroment but i cant really be bothered with another chore of washing nappies on my shoulder iykwim

With DD we were disposable all the way and yes it was easier but I dread to think of the amount it's cost us.
This time we're going with disposables for the first month or so then moving to boring ol' Terry cloths.

I got 228 disposables diapers for $18, seems cheaper to me. I'm a bargain hunter.

! That's an amazing bargain, great spotting I'd be hard pressed to find anything that cheap here annoyingly...if I could I most likely would forego the cloth!!

We are using reusables.

We are using a mixture.

I've got Little lambs with different wraps (I have the plain white wraps and am also going to get some pretty Blueberry wraps with different patterns like cowprint).

I've been given 10 motherease cloth nappies and 2 motherease wraps on freecycle.

I have 5 Itti Bitti AIOs in chocolate, fuscia, purple, lilac and red.

I have one Flip in green and have bought loads of inserts (organic as they are thicker and good for night times) for it.

I have a Bamboozle in green, a Fuzzi Bunz in lilac with daisies on it and a wonderoo in yellow (I think yellow anyway).

I'm going to get 2 wee notions and maybe also a couple of Kushie Tushies.

I've stocked up on loads of inserts (for the pockets - flips etc), fleece liners as well as some disposable liners for out and about, bamboo boosters especially for nighttimes.

I am also using reusable wipes and have bought the Cheeky Wipes kit for home use and also a couple of packs of wee notions reusable wipes and some stuff I can make a solution from (for putting on the wipes from a spray bottle) for when I am out and about.

I'm going to use disposables til she is a couple of weeks old as I don't want to stain my nice nappies and in the hospital they will be easier. I will also have a stock ready for when she has upset tummies or if for some reason I haven't washed all my nappies.

At the moment I've got enough nappies and inserts for 32 nappy changes, but like I said, I want to get some wee notions and kushie tushies (for the cute factor!).
