We'll be using disposables for the first few weeks- think I'll have enough on my plate with lack of sleep and establishing BFing. After that I'm using reuseables - got BumGenius AIOs, Itti Bitti D'lish and a few other random ones. Really excited to use them- they are so cute!

Same here! Being the hippy I am, I really wanted to go cloth with my first but quickly realized they didn't absorb very well and were so smelly (hope this isn't the case for the original poster though). I also realized they used so many chemicals cleaning them that it sort of defeated the purpose.

Good luck with your cloth diapers though! I hope it works out for you. They're really cute anyway!

We are using cloth this time. I'll use disposable till the meconium is done so I dont stain or ruin any nappies!

I have a mixture of:

Tots Bots Bamboozles
Itti Bitti D'lish
Bum Genius
Weenotions
Blueberries

I've picked up a few different ones over the months so I can see which work best for us. I'll be using flushable liners.

We are using them for cost reasons. It's pretty much accepted that they arent more environmentally friendly with all the washing, detergents, energy used etc. but as I am going to be a SAHM so we are taking a large drop in income, it made sense to be buying these in advance and hopefully I wont need to lay out any more £££ for a good while.

I have just over 100 reuseables About 60 odd little lambs were donated by a very kind Aunt!

Will be using a mix of very girly-fied:

Flips
Bum Genius V3
Itti Bittis
Tots Bots
Little Lambs
Blueberries
Mini La La's
Cushie Tushies
Kushies

Phew! Cant wait to start using them and am a bit sick of the negativity I get when I say I'm going to use reuseables. I think a lot of people think they are still a piece of terry towel and a few safety pins thrown in for good measure!

They do Chaos! People don't realise how far reusables have come on since the late 80s when my mum was using Terry Towels on my brother and it was literally a piece of towel wrapped round his bum and pins holding it together. I'm using nappies that have proven excellent absorbancy and people don't report having leaks or problems, especially if they use the boosters for heavier wetters.

The people I speak to from Natural Parenting also say the smell is no different to disposables. :S

The cost is far favourable as well, especially considering you can get about two thirds of your money back when you resell the nappies when your baby doesn't need them anymore.

I'm really excited about the reusables. Cost saving and planet saving all in one go!

We have only ever used disposables before and they do smell just the same as the cloth ones. I've tried out my birth to potty one's on my daughter and they definitely dont offend more.
