30 wks period pains +/or irritable uterus? Anyone had these?

I've been getting dull period type pains all night and this morning, Went to hospital and they hooked me up & did an internal. They said I had an irritable uterus.. what does that mean?

Also.. has anyone else had this or the period type cramps? whats been the outcome?

I had this at 33 weeks but i was in for 4 days as they thought it was preterm labour. I still get tightenings now but no dialating so its just an irritable uterus, theres nothing they can do about it, it should ease off a little x

I've been getting period type pains for the last 4 days, with really bad back ache. I haven't been to the doctors, cause I thought I might just be wasting their time. I'm not sure if it is just something to do with LO's position or if it is something to worry about.... I just keep putting it off, I'll see how I feel tomorrow.....

Thanks Kerrie the midwife didn't seem too worried but the doc was more concerned said it could be preterm labour, after an internal they found out I was'nt dialated so sent me home.. just a bit worrying isnt it.

I have been drinking like a fish so it couldn't possibly be that?? they didn't even mention dehydration to me.. I guess different people will tell u diff things! By the looks of it.. for some people it could just be a niggily uterus and others it could be pre term labour. I'd rather air on the side of caution.

I thought that too!!! I will mention it to my midwife @ next appointment though, cause it is really uncomfortable.

Ive had the odd period type pain throughout pregnancy but after stretching and rubbing my back etc its gone away. I also thought it was just baby pushing on stuff. x

I'd never felt this pain before while I was preggers of course so rang maternity ward who told me to come in and get checked out which is when she noticed my uterus was irritated!
