swelling of hands, ankles and feet question

Hi since i have been on maternity leave i have found that my feet, ankles and hands all are really swollen. I had a nightmare of getting my rings off the other day. They are ok in the morning but as the day goes on they swell up. I sit down most of the time but this is when it gets worse. Yesterday when i walked about the house i could feel the water in them swishing about, i sit with my feet up mentioned it to mw but she wasn't concerned at all. Just wondered if any of you experience this? and what do you do to help it, I went for reflexology last week and it really helped they actually went down to normal size where you could see the bones again, so may try that again this week.

A good way i know of is if you are laying in bed or sitting make sure to rotate your wrists and ankles a bunch. Also when you are laying in bed prop your feet up with pillows

Yup yup - up your intake of water...your body is retaining water so if you provide your body with more water, the body will not "think" it needs to hold on to any water it finds.

It's some kind of survival method the body uses to prevent dehydration.

Be careful with swelling as it can also be a sign of pre-eclampsia.
