I was wondering if anyone heard of ladies who got told the gender(boy/girl) of the baby, only to see a different gender being born? I know in the old days it used to happen a lot....Does that still happen?

When I asked the sonographer she was certain my LO was a girl. I know a few people who have been told they're having a boy and actually had a girl although I think that's the one that's less obvious because of the umbillical cord which can sometimes be mistaken for a little willy lol

My mum was told she was having a boy when she had my sister - they even had an arrow on the scan pic showing a 'willy'! Needless to say, they were wrong!

Someone who I work with, his wife was told she was having a girl and it came out as a boy.

They didnt actually say 'Its a girl' the phrase they used was 'Theres nothing there to suggest its a boy'.

They were shocked needless to say.

I keep thinking about this as well. Only because I've bought everything girly I would hate to have nothing for the baby if it turned out to be a boy.

The sonographer didn't even say "I think it's a girl", she said "I can tell you it's a girl" which makes me sure she was pretty certain.

I've done the same. I have tons of clothes all girly and pink and the nursery is girly and omg just everything I have so far has been bought with the idea that I'm having a girl! I was told it was certain it was a girl. Then my OH who wanted a boy said ' but sometimes you can be wrong can't you?' and the woman said 'Well i've never been wrong yet.' in that smug all knowing voice lol so fingers crossed she was pretty much 100% certain!

At my 20 week scan she was having trouble seeing his bits because his cord was in the way but after a while she said she's 95% sure it's a boy as she could see his scrotum and a little bit of his willy.

I haven't bought much boy stuff. Just a couple of clothes. The rest that I've bought is unisex just incase but I have been given lots of boys clothes.

My sonographer said she was 120% sure. I'll sue her if she's wrong..
