I had a c-section first time round & i'm planning a VBAC this time personally because I feel I want that natural feeling other women have got to experience, & also because of the recovery part. I'm willing to give it a go & actually don't mind if I end up with emergency c-section again, if the VBAC doesn't work out, as long as the baby is OK & healthy I will do whats best for her.

I had a c-sec the 1st time after 18 hours of labor and no progression past 2-3 cm. I am going to try for a VBAC this time. My doc says I have to deliver by my due date though - or else I will have to get another section. They will not induce me for a VBAC, So - time will tell. I hope I get my VBAC - but if I end up with a c-sec and a healthy baby - thats okay too.

thanks for all your comments!

Logansmama - my consultant won't induce either but says i have to wait til 42 weeks before i have the section, i am convinced i will be going over and the idea of having this baby 3 weeks later than what i could have and having to go through it all anyways really bothers me...

i have decided i want a section, will be telling my consultant that on Monday - will see what happens as i will be 38+3, will keep you updated

Crystalz - I WISH my doctor would let me go to at least 41 weeks - to give me more of a shot! I'm already starting to get nervous that I won't progress on my own in time!

Totally agree with the healing process, so do not want that again! You can't even laugh or cough without having pain, I'm planning to BF this time so healing plus BF just doesn't sound good to me

My mw told me there was a good chance I could deliver naturally because I laboured to fully dilated last time round...
However, once I got to fully, Freya didn't move. My hospital notes are unclear as to whether this was because she got a bit stuck, or because there wasn't room.

And then there is the risk of uterine rupture. I know the risk is very small, but it is always on my mind as it happened to a very dear friend of mine, and I would never want to go thru that - or put her thru it again on my behalf!

Given that I would be worrying so much about that, and there is a possibility that Stinky will get just as stuck as Freya did, I decided on a section.

It's not really important to me how the baby gets out - more that it's healthy and gets out safely.

I guess I am a little concerned about the recovery, although it went incredibly smoothly last time. The difference this time is that I have a daughter who likes lots of cuddles. Luckily she is old enough to have some understanding of what will happen, and that I will be a bit sore for a while and not able to lift her.

well i decided upon section int he end... the rupture thing has also been a major thing on my mind and reading up on it, it seems risks of a rupture increase the futher past 40 weeks you go...

healing for me was not so bad last time either, have had previous ops when i was younger though down the same scar so guess i was kind of used to the feeling of it hehe

anyways - i am booked to go in on Friday... excited but nervy but thats normal hehe

thanks again and i will post some pics when i have some time :P

Curious as to why so many women would have a c-section cause there afraid of having a big baby? My son was 4 pounds bigger than my daughter and the birth was much easier.
