homebirth anyone?

hello mummys!

just wanted to ask, how many of you are having a home birth?

from the min we decided we wanted a 3rd child, i decided i wanted a home birth. had so many problems at hospitals when having my other 2. not due to myself or my children, due to the stupid staff etc.

i think it will be alot more private and relaxing at home. and i can sleep in my own bed that night! hurrah! (so hate hospitals! and the beds are terrible!) xx

I JUST decided like, 2 days ago that I would be MUCH happier with a home birth, but at this point it's too late to make it happen so...next time I suppose!

I'm planning for a homebirth! I'm really excited about the idea of being here in my familiar apartment with an incredible midwife who I trust completely. We've also rented a birthing tub so I can be in the water. I just ordered my birthing kit but still need to pull a few more things together. It's kind of amazing, actually, at how little you need to give birth at home.

I am planning a home birth as well. I am really looking forward to it. I have to admit ladies, I think you are brave to head to the hospital, I would be so scared there.

I would LOVE to do a home birth but there are no midwives in my area that will do one. Sadly, the only midwife I could find close by is an hour away and she delivers in a hospital. Also, there isn't a decent hospital closer than an hour away so if anything went wrong with a home birth, I'm afraid I would be too far away from help. I used a birthing center last time and it was perfect, next best thing to a home birth. I'm actually terrified of delivering in the hospital but I'm trying to make the best of it. My midwife was very open to my birth plan so that alleviated some of my fears.

Good luck to all of you ladies that are able to do a home birth. I'm sooo jealous!

are you planning on taking every pain relief available? it does make it a damn sight easier!
i was all for that and did when i had my son but when it got to being in labour with my daughter, i was denied ANY pain relief as they were not availble. (i went into labor a day befor i was due to go into hospital and they only just managed to get me a bed!!) so i went all the way totally naturally.

if id knew, i would have just stayed at home and had her. so this time, instead of stressing rushing around to get to the hospital and being let down again, im staying at home,in my own comfort, all natural!

I just ordered my birth kit. And we just made a trip and bought all the other stuff that was recommend on my MWs list. Now I get to start putting my birth bags together. One for baby, one for the bed, one for after the birth. I just can't wrap my head around the fact that I am getting so close to giving birth.
