Amy, my midwife has a company that has the list of stuff. Things like pads that can be tossed after use, the nose sucker thing, all those kind of medical things. She also has a list of stuff to have ready such as sheet for the bed, the baby's clothes and diapers, and such. I think each MW if different in what all you want you to have.

I had a homebirth and all Iwas told to get was something to protect my sheets/or carpet - like tarpaulin. In the Uk the midwives bring along a birth kit, which includes all the medical stuff, etc etc so you don't have to stress about that.

www.homebirth.org.uk - a great resource

my homebirth was the most positive experience I had. I was so much more relaxed and healed so much quicker as a result of this and ot being pumped full of drugs like I was the first time. I really hope you get your homebirth

Haha Amy, my MW has a big pack of information, and one sheet is all about what to do if sudden birth should occur. So my DH, made a special point to pull it out, so he would know exactly where it is. I told him we should only be so lucky that our birth is that fast.
