I am going to request Gaviscon on prescription. I bought the 500ml of Boots one last Tuesday and have run out! It only gives temporary repreive but I generally only get it at night. I also have Rennies too. I have had heartburn the whole way through, since about 6 weeks but it's only just started getting so bad!

I have suffered with horrendous heartburn in both my pregnancies.... and nothing works.... I just drinks gallons of water and chew chewing gum all day and it helps keep the worst of it away

Anyone else getting the heartburn pain right up to their ears? The acid goes up the eustachian tube and it HURTS!

I find drinking plenty helps reduce the pain (dilutes the stomach acid) and gaviscon advance gives me about 20 minutes relief (the plain non-advance one only 10 minutes strangely. I just have to hope I get to sleep really quickly each night.

Also, FYI gaviscon is quite high in sodium, so if your BP is going up you might want to limit consumption.
