Poor you - low iron makes you feel really tired, doesn't it?

Good news is you can munch your way through lots of yummy things to boost your levels like spinach, steak, eggs and potatoes.

I also drink a small can of Guinness every day - thats crammed with iron!

I take an iron table called Ferri-Med. Its stronger than the ones you get off the shelf. I've been on these since before I was pregnant as I am anemic. I'm finding them not quite strong enough now that baby is stealing my iron.

Things to eat: Liver, broccoli (any green veggies), sardines, certain beans etc.

Often we are eating enough iron but our body doesn't absord it. Drinking orange juice really helps your body to absorb it.

Just remember, if you are taking iron tablets to eat lots of fibre and drink lots of water otherwise you will end up constipated

It is actually normal for your iron levels to drop till about 32-33 weeks, so don't worry to much. This is what my MW gave me to take, and it does not cause constipation, and when she tested my iron yesterday it was way higher!

Herb: Yellow Dock. I take this once a day at lunch.
Blood Builder. I also take this once a day.

Also, be sure not to take any kind of iron or iron builder with Vitamin E as it will interfer with absorption. BUT be sure to take it with Vitamin C as it aids in the absorbtion.

yep this is pretty normal for preggie woman, i have it too and have iron pills to take every second day. i am really bad at it coz it gives me bad stomach problems- be warned. also dont take it with milk products as it hinders absorption.
