31 weeks pregnant with sharp pains and discharge - is this normal?

I've been feeling occassional sharp pains in my vagina like if my muscles are pulling, and today I wiped in the toilet and found (TMI Alert!) a thick creamy discharge. Yesterday I felt the baby kick REALLY hard on the side of my bump and today, I'm feeling very heavy down low.

I've never had such discharge before...usually it's just watery but today it was good and thick but not...gooey. lol The sharp pains are enough to stop me in my steps or when I'm talking but it only lasts for a split second.

Seeing as though this is my first baby, please tell me it's normal! And why is this happening?

It could be normal as I think an increase in discharge is normal in third tri :-)
But just in case if discomfort & unusual discharge (for you) continues it might be a good idea to check in with the midwifes. Might be something baby related (but sorry I have no clues) but could just be thrush or baceterical vaginosis (that sounds scary but its really not, you get it from washing too often lol =P) & they just give you tablets. But very important you get checked whilst pregnant because infections could potentially affect babyx

Ooh, also one of the first things my midwife said to me when I went in for booking appointment was "you may experience shooting pains in your vagina" I kind of just looked at her cluelessly, but maybe its relevant now =P

I have to say I have been getting the odd period like pain down there in the last few days I think it might be baby growing I have had a bit of discharge but its been more watery I know its not my waters and I hope its not pee lol
