I've already been taking evening primrose + weekly membrane sweeps. Any other advice to share?
Also just come on in and feel free to chat if you're waiitng for your baby to arrive, or share your experiences. | When you say you've been taking evening primrose oil, do you mean orally? Because it's much more effective if 'taken' ... *whisper* 'down there' (maybe tmi but you asked lol) I started inserting evening primrose oil capsules into my vagina (pushing them right up high as close to the cervix as possible) every night before bed on the 25th March - went into labour 2 days later
Then of course there is sex, walking, nipple stimulation, spicy food, rasberry leaf tea.... (I was doing all of these in the week I went into labour so I couldn't say for sure which one of them worked but something got her moving and she wasn't even due for another 2 weeks!) Of course Anna could have been on her way out anyway... we'll just never know I guess
Good luck with your self-induction lol, I hope something works for you! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Curry and spicy foods are meant to work in the same was as caster oil - by slightly upsetting your bowl which in turn should start your uterus contracting but since I've never had an upest stomach from spicy foods I don't think it would work for me. My mum said she took a teaspoon of caster oil the day before she went into labour with me and my sister. As for sex, I think it's also got something to do with a chemical or hormone in the swimmers fluid which sets off labour. |

How far along are you? if you dont mind me asking. | Actually it's the man who has to orgasm: The prostoglandins in his sperm can get things moving. I know... unfair, right? |

Not sure why!?
Curry and sex .... sounds like the perfect evening to me!! | @ curry and sex being the perfect evening... although I'm inclined to agree! lol
Nipple stimulation can bring on an intense labour because it releases high quantities of the hormone that causes contractions. If you are going to try this one girls, I'd reccomend trying it for 5 mins on each nipple first to see what it does for you, and if it seems okay then carry on; When I first did it I was stimulating both my nipples at once for about half an hour - and then when I stopped I got bombarded with a series of long and painful (but ultimately useless) BH contractions... this one is most effective if you've already been in labour but your contractions are slowing down, I think. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I was told that breastfeeding makes your uterus contract quicker - could this be why nipple stimulation seems to have an effect? because you trick it into thinking baby is out and therefore get contractions??
Just a thought! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | There's alot of different ways people say that gets your labour started, some say a glass of red wine, castor oil (but it's hard on your tummy + the baby), going over alot of bumps and other various ways. But still, the best thing to do is just wait, you shouldn't try to induce your own labour because the baby is the one who sends off the hormone to get your body into labour. If you induce it yourself the baby may not be mature enough mentally and emotionally to handle the labour and life outside the womb and he may suffer difficulties. When the apple's ready to fall from the tree, it will. |

In all, doesn't sound like the best idea. I'm all for trying harmless home remedies, but if it's gonna upset your tummy and that of your baby, I'd personally rather just wait until my baby is ready to come out... |
