I'm sharing antenatal between my midwife & hospital as I'm sure most people do though the past couple of times I've been to see midwife its been someone different filling in & feel I don't get enough info. I'm really wanting a vbac this time & need more info from the hospital though they said it should be ok to go ahead and let laboour start naturally they would like to see my old notes.

I've requested my old notes about 3 times from the hospital & they still haven't got them for me, I'm thinking it's because its left for so long before I get back to the hospital again, the last one was 10wks in between. I'm due to go back in 6 weeks but would like to see them again so I know for definate whats happening with the birth procedure I don't want to leave it until I'm 36wks, is it possible to not go to my local midwife and book another appointment with the hospital?

I also felt they didn't really examine me much last time, I assumed they told you what weight the baby was etc but he didn't say much to me now I really want to go back & ask loads of questions!

Im shared beween hospital and midwife. As far as i no the hospital see you when they need to and the midwife fits around that. Least thats what has happened with me. Even if i cancelled midwife i would still only get seen by the hospital when they want me to. They dont fit around midwife its the other way round. I use the midwife for urine and blood pressure checks and get all info from hospital.Call the hospital and see if they can see you sooner if you wish but you dont need to cancel midwife to do this

I requested full hospital care because I was not happy with the care provided by community midwives. I think that as part of the NHS "Your Choice" charter you can decide where you have your care. If you type into a search engine "your choice nhs pregnancy" (for some reason it won't let me post link) it will take you to their website where you should be able to find out more information.
