Help with breast pumps

I am not sure if I am BFing or not as I have a few phobias. But if I do I want to do a mixture of feeding and expressing.

Do you think it's best for me to either wait until I know how it's going or go out now and get a breast pump and would I be best to get a manual or electric breast pump considering the fact I might decide to give up BFing after a week or so.

Help

i would ask at your hospital about hiring one or get a hand one, I have the TommyTippee closer to Nature hand pump and love it i just got out again today and im already excited about using it , its really easy to use and clean and more comfortable than alot of the electric pumps i tried or used at the hospital. and much cheaper than the only electric one that i like which is +£300 secondhand lol, i got my breast pump as a freebie from the babyshow when i subscribed to prima baby mag for a year

I would definately go with an electric if you are planning on regularly expressing, a double if you can. I was expressing for Fynn for three weeks when he was in special care and am expressing for Sam now (he doesnt latch properly) and cant imagine doing it with a manual - its time consuming enough with an electric xx hth

I use the Tommee Tippee manual breast pump to express a couple of feeds a day, and I breastfeed too. So far Daisy is fine with doing both, good luck . xx
