breech!

My baby has been breech at every antenatal and scan since 20wks. midwife says he has plenty of time 2 turn and that at this stage 50% are breech but i have this feeling he is comfortable like this as his movements are generally low down on the whole. i have had 2 vaginal births (8lbs 10oz and 7lbs 11oz) and would like 2 go 4 a vaginal breech birth if it came 2 it. do u think i am mad to think this? i know that it's pretty early 2 think about this but i like 2 plan 4 all eventualities! lol!!!

I dont think you're mad! I'm breech and thinking about a vaginal delivery. I REALLY dont want a section but I'm about to embark on some more strategies to get him to turn. I've had hypnotherapy this week and since he's definitely attempting to turn! After my presentation scan on monday I'll be having moxibustion and acupunture. I am planning a home birth so I REALLY need him to turn!!

good luck with the turning! i have heard of moxibustion but we live in a small place and i dont think that any1 does anything like that here. has your baby always been breech? my other 2 were head down really early on. midwife says as this is 3rd there's more room 4 him 2 turn but i have a feeling he's more than comfortable with his head against my ribcage!!!

Hi, i am due a day after you i had a VBAC with baby no 4 last may, my c section was due to a breech baby ( baby no 3), this was many years ago lol so i dont know how things have changed. but i was advised for a section and took it feeling it was the best thing, my personal experience wasant that good so i was so relieved to have a natural birth, this time i am opting for the same but after having my 4d scan last week it appears baby is breech at the moment. i am praying she turns! we still have a bit of time i wouldnt say you are mad to want a natural birth even if breech. definitely something to talk over with your midwife and doctor. best of luck!!!
best of luck also Mervs mum..hope L.O turns for you too

Heya hun. When i was at your stage in pregnancy our LO was breech aswell. They have tonnes of time to move at this stage and so dont worry. We were lucky and baby turned for us, but if yours doesnt hun dont worry there are way to try and get baby to move. MW may try moving baby externally. There are videos of this being done on youtube so you might want to check them out? Also there are ways you personally can try and get baby to move, might be worth asking MW about them exercises if you havent already.
Fingers crossed for you

He was head down at 27 wks and breech the folllowing week. I knew something had changed but I honestly thought he'd engaged mega early. My bump completely changed shape one evening and the next day my MW said he was breech. He's been the same ever since! I was told the same thing about him as he's my 3rd baby too. My first was head down early and engaged early. My second was head down early, didnt engage till labour started and was posterior/back to back/sunny side up and turned as she was born.

My baby is breach and has been since about 25 weeks. I have opted not to have the baby turned due to someone in my family having a bad experience ans also my consultant said the likley hood of sucsess with a big baby isnt great. My consultant wont even consider a virginal birth with a breach baby. She said that a lot wont. so if this iis what you want then discuss this early to no your options

midwife says i have a case for a vaginal breech birth if it comes 2 it as i have had 2 babies with no probs vaginally. they have experience of vaginal breech births here as we have a big jewish community and apparently they dont want c sections as that limits the amount of births u can have if u have 2 have more sections. we shall see. good luck all of u trying 2 get baby 2 turn and little blonde good luck with your c section!

My baby was breech at every single ultrasound I've had this pregnancy until 28/29 weeks when suddenly he was head down and has stayed that way so far since I was starting to get worried but he did turn. Hopefully yours does as well!

my mother in law had a breech baby and delivered vaginally and her daughter now has cerebal palsy because of it my baby was breech i was booked for a c-section and when i went in for it at 38 weeks they asked y i was there i said he's breech they gave me a look scanned me and said yes dear baby has turned you can go home if you like and i was sent on my way i delivered head down at 41 weeks must of been the thought of coming out scared him lol its scary but i'd have a c-section everytime as i wouldn't want any damage done to my child or to even take a chance on it its a tuff choice
