question about breech baby's

Hello ladies! I have a question and knew if anyone could answer it would be someone on here! I'm just curious really....a woman at hubby's work is a week ahead of me so right about 31-32weeks, and her dr said the baby is breech and scheduled and is preparing her for a section. I'm not trying to be snotty at all I'm just curious.....I thought baby could still move at 32 weeks or that there were excersizes to turn or a midwife could manipulate your belly from the outside a bit to move baby into the right birth position. Is it me or does scheduling a section at 31 weeks seem a bit early? I would never say anything obviously but just thought it sounded weird. Thanks everyone in advance!

maybe they r scheduling it in in case it doesn't turn? my baby was breech at 26wk scan and i am hoping it will turn as i really dont want a c section! if my baby was breech i'd still want 2 try a vaginal birth so long as it was safe 4 me and baby. i thought that babies could turn up til abt 36wks anyway. u can also have an ECV.

babys can turn right till the labour. At 31 weeks there a hugh chance that baby will turn as most do. Mine is breach so i now have a section booked. I didi t get a date till yesterday. But even with a section booked i will and your work friend will have a scan on the day and if baby has turned section will be cancelled. So i guess it dont make much difference when section is booked.

my mates baby was head down til she got in to hospital then he turned and when breech when she was in labour so i suppose they can move throughout the whole pregnancy cos she was in labour when her bubba moved,
im 33 weeks my bubbas breech havent even spoke about having a sweep yet she just said do a couple of excercises like swinging my hips and that. but i suppose every place is different and shouldnt it be her midwife arranging c-section cos they know more about pregnancy than doctors lol

Yup I would say 31/32 weeks is a bit early to deliver baby due to it being breech. My Lo was breech at 34 weeks and I was told not to worry because there was still time for him to turn by himself up until the 37th week, if not then I would need an ECV to turn him manually. Luckily week 37 came and LO had turned head down all by himself!! Maybe she has an underlying problem that her OH hasn't mentioned!?
