Going to the drs later, will he help?

I have booked myself an appointment at the doctors later tonight, as i am finding it very hard to walk like 2 steps without nearly crying in pain. I can't even get out of the house without being in complete agony. My right hip feels like it's going to fall off if i walk. Walking up the stairs just to go to the bathroom is like trying to get to the top of mount everest. Even have to sleep on the sofa at times where i just can't get to the bedroom. What could this be? And could my doctor actually do anything to help? Thanks xx

Ok..a friend of mine suggested I try this, and it did help..Tie a sheet around your hips! Tight, but not too tight..It helped take the edge off..

It does sound like SPD - which happens because your body produces a hormone called relaxin to prepare you for childbirth - essentially this loosens all your ligamentsaround your pelvis and hips making them unstable and causing pain... My midwife referred me to a physio and I was given tips on how to move properly to decrease the pain and was also given a belt to wear which basically keeps my pelvis together and less likely to bruise and cause pain... Your doctor should be able to refer you and give you proper pain relief - there is a thread about SPD in pregnancy/baby club on here and it has lots of tips to help xx

Could be SPD, doctor can give you painkillers and refer you to physio. That's it I think. X

Got to the doctors and basically he said that he can't give me any painkillers as he doesn't want to give me anything that could harm baby so i should just take some paracetamol. He has put in an urgent referrel for the physio, so just waiting to hear from them now.

bless ya hun, when i 1st went to the drs at 15 weeks he prescribed me co codamol(8mg codine and 500mg paracetamol) and today he prescribed me stronger ones( 15mg odine and 500mg paracetamol) he said it was for back pain rather than spd(although the mw said its spd) but he still gave me them. you could try going to a chemist and speak to the pharmacist beause i know you can buy the lower dose co codamol over the counter and they really do help xx
