Is Ibuprofen Gel safe to use during pregnancy (leg muscle pain)?

Got a leg cramp since this morning...feels like I've pulled my muscle in my sleep! It's very painful. Can I use Ibuprofen gel on the area? I'm not allergic to it or anything like that.

Nope, ibuprofen is an asprin derivitive, so not unless your doc or midwife says you can.

haha i was thinking the same earlier because i have developed the pregnancy related carpel tunnel syndrome but i decided ibuprofen is a no no but i will ask my mw tomorrow if there is anything i can take because paracetamol does FA. I saw this deep freeze stuff in the store today and wondered about that but as most things it says ask your doc if you are pregnant

Me too with carpal tunnel, doc said paracetamol and a trip to the physio where they give you wrist splints, that sounds easy to sleep in!!!

I asked the mw today and she said no creams are safe in pregnancy. She said if i wasnt so close to my due date she would refer me to physio and get splints but before the refferal would come in i would have bubs so just deal with it lol

But in your case, sorry, no solutions. BUT my mom always said that eating bananas helps with leg cramps. It is something to do with potassium. Also a hot water bottle may help

Ibuprofen is a NO NO!!! If you're still in discomfort with the cramps try gentle stretches and resting your leg on a hot water bottle. The heat should help relax the muscles.xx
