8 days overdue!

Come on baby!! My turn for a mini rant. Honestly, I have to admit that in the back of my mind I knew my baby was gonna to be a stubborn late baby... but in my ever hopeful conscious mind I was convinced she was going to be early. I'm getting new stretch marks every couple days now and the itching is so frustrating.

I had my last checkup yesterday with the consultant and when she felt my belly she said that the baby was still only 4/5ths engaged and was worried that we'd need to put off an induction for a while, but that she'd try doing a sweep anyway... So she does the sweep (yeah, not something you want done on a regular basis! I just used my labour breathing for it! I think she thought I was amusing) and says... gosh.. you're 2cm dilated and I can feel the baby's head. You have a really short pelvis! It might not be that long afterall! Her head's not fixed so she's still bobbing around but she can't really engage much farther because there's nowhere for her to go.

Have any of you ever heard of a short pelvis? I tried googling it, but couldn't seem to come up with anything other than small pelvis. I wonder if this means labour will be easier or shorter because she has less bone to pass through... or is that just wishful thinking?

They've scheduled an induction for the 20th. I'll be admitted on the 19th and pumped full of drugs or something.. lol and then the full scale water breaking and everything will happen on Saturday if I haven't gone into labour on my own.

Just looked out the window and it appears to be snowing..... *laughs* excellent. Maybe that's her cue to come tonight!

Thanks guys! We're just so ready for this little one to come out. Getting kinda worried as well because 3 weeks ago she was estimated at 7lbs 6oz... she could be huge by now!

9 days overdue and no signs of anything happening.

I'm just about to go scan all my notes into the computer now to distract me. (They keep your notes after delivery and for some reason I want to keep all of mine!! MINE! *laughs*)

Oh and we have snow forecasted for tonight too.... lol

Oh and apparently they write lots of interesting stuff in your notes during labour that you never get to see.. so if they leave you alone in the labour room after you've given birth and the baby is sleeping make sure you get a nosey before they take them away!! lol

Oh gosh! Remember how I said the Doc told me I had a short pelvis? I looked at my notes today and what she wrote was "shallow gynecoid pelvis" I just looked it up and it says it's the ideal shape for childbirth!

Yaaay!
