Annoyed and a little worried

Yesterday I bumped my right breast and noticed it was really tender. So I take a look, and it has a big red place on it. I show my DH who also commented on it. So of course the only thing I can think of is mastitis, so I google, and all the symptoms are there. Luckily, I had my birthing class last night, and I grabbed my MW and showed her. She confirmed that it looks like the beginnings of an infection and now I am under strict instuctions on what to do to take care of it. DAMN, I am not even BFing yet, and this happens. It makes me worry a bit about baby, as it is an infection.

Yes Amy it does hurt, but not horribly at this point. I could see that if I had not noticed it when I did, it would have been really bad if not caught. I have to massage it as well, so that is when it really hurts.

Actually Jen, this does not affect BF, it is recommended to BF through it to keep your milk in supply and help clear the blockage.
