a bit confusing..maybe you guys can help me understand..

So today was my 39wk appt..and baby is fully engaged..she checked to see if I was dilated..and i'm not..she says i'm still thinning..but she could feel his head..what is that suppose to mean that she can feel his head? I'm so worried about LO being over due..if he's not here on time I have to wait until March 1..which I really don't wanna do

Your cervix also effaces (thins). So, she may be able to feel your baby's head through your cervix, as it has effaced enough but has not yet started to dilate (open).

I've also been told by my Dr. that the head can sometimes be felt on either side of the cervix along the upper vaginal wall. I know I can feel my little mans head and my dr. could too and I am not effaced or dilated at all!
