How do you visualise your labour??

Do you have an idea of how you'd like your labour to go... Here's how my ideal labour goes...

I'll go into labour late evening (always seem to get BH around this time)
I'll probably be pacing up and down, pottering around the house, making sure everything is tidy.
As my contractions get stronger, I'd like to have a bath and relax as much as possible.
My husband WILL massage my back and feet to help me relax.
I won't freak out or be scared instead I'll focus and breath.
I will go to hospital either once my waters break or my contractions are 3 in 10mins (as requested by MW)
Once in hospital I imagine I will be having pretty intense contractions, I would like to stay upright and keep moving.
I would like to squat or lean on the bed, not keen on laying down. Im hoping this will open up my pelvis.
I will rock my hips which I hope will help baby move down.
I wont have an epidural, instead I'll have gas and air and maybe use the birthing pool if im lucky and its free.
I might need a little cut, thats ok if it helps my baby get out easier.
I will push HARD and listen to all the advice the MW gives me regarding pushing.

Then hopefully my baby will be born.

If my labour does go like that, I'd be very happy !!! It's just how I imagine it to be when I think about the big day!!

I can't visualise it at all, and that scares me lol

I can't even imagine myself with a baby, which scares me even more!

Wow Louisa...you've really got everything down to the T...what i've thought about so far is that once i'm in labour, i'll start with gas and air and just when i feel like i cant take the pain no more, i will start screaming for an epidural, they'll tell me that it's too late cos i'm almost 10cm dialated....a few pushes after this and baby is here...
I'm sure i'll have a more realistic version when i get as far as you are.

I see it as being painful, scary and messy but worth it all in the end!

Linzi, don't worry I'm pretrified of babies. Have only ever held one once for about 30 seconds. I have NO clue how to do anything.

Hmm I'm starting to think I have thought about this a little to much.. lol

I assumed everyone had a rough idea of what they will do once labour starts..

I had to go to the delivery suite a few weeks ago and we got there and I said to my other half 'Matt, we need to go, theres babies EVERYWHERE, theres women in labour, I want to go home ' I was proper terrified lol.

I hope I calm down when the time comes, I was a nervous wreck just being there.

It's funny how the same experience can have different effects on people. Being there just made me jealous. I wanted the pain, the excitement and most of all MY BABY!

I guess it's just because Ive never been a baby person. Before now Id happily never have had one, although I wouldn't change things now obviously.

Im scared of hospitals, Im scared of pain and Im DEFINATELY scared of being a mum. I can barely look after myself let alone by 100% responsible for a baby. I have these stupid thoughts all the time like 'if I go out, and I need the loo, how do I get a buggy into a public toilet cubicle with me' and 'what do I do if I need a shower and Im at home on my own'. Completely irrational things I guess!

I just don't think Ive come to terms with it yet, and I dont think I will until I have him with me.
