I envision mine as a classic example of Murphy's Law...Everything that can go wrong, will. My water will probably break on my leather couch, as Im least prepared, not showered or shaved, with my hair sticking out in every possible direction. In the hospital, I will be screaming my arse off and not breathing, causing me agonizing pain for 18 hours after which the doctor will finally come in and command me to agree to a c-section. Or if I deliver vaginally, I'll tear like a paper bag. Oh, I cant wait!

Well I would like to go into labor after a good night sleep.
Knowing I am actually in labor, I will call my mom and my two best friends and of course my MW.

My DH will start filling the tub while I putter around the house. First thing I am going to do is cover all the clocks and turn off the phones but one. I will also be putting a sign on our front door to warn people off.

I have a couple of labor projects in mind, washing the baby's clothes that have not been washed already. My mom and I are also going to make cookies. I just want to keep moving and active, so that the first stage of labor is taken up by busy work.

Once I am moving through the labor, and the pain in growning, I plan to use my breathing and the tub along with the loving support of my group.

I figure once I hit transition I will want to be out of the tub, and we will all head to the bedroom. Once there, hopefully my body will open up and I can deliver my baby without much delay.

I imagine it to be much like Samantha does, except I will unfortunately have to eventually go to a hospital. If we didn't live so far from a good hospital, I would be all about the home birth. Also, no midwives would do a homebirth out here so I am limited in choices. I plan to make my hospital birth as home like as possible.

I imagine I will try to rest as much as possible in the very beginning and as things get going, I will try to stay active. Once we are at the hospital, I will walk and squat as much as possible. Maybe even take a shower, or bath, if allowed. I imagine my OH and my mom will be by my side, offering me juice and rubbing my back, playing relaxing music...I imagine the transition phase going quickly, using my breathing and relaxing techniques to make it through. I will push when my body is ready. I'm sure I will be squatting or on my hands and knees for the birth. I imagine my body will open up easily and there will be no tearing or need for stitches. It's done it before so I'm confident it can do it again. I will do perineal massages in the weeks prior to labor.

I imagine she will arrive healthy and happy. My OH will cut the cord, if he still wants to. She will be placed on my chest by my OH where she will be checked over and cleaned up. She will nurse as soon as she is ready. I will focus on her while I deliver the placenta. She will stay with me, skin to skin, as much as possible. As soon as we are both cleaned up, I will bring in my other DD, unless she decides to be there during the whole birthing process. I'm leaving it up to her.

I imagine we will both be healthy enough to go home within 24 hours and everything will be perfect, natural and lovely

I wish to have time to take a nice shower, shave my downtown and my legs, put some makeup on...

And I hope it's gonna be short, without tearing.

Oh and... With every pain meds I can get, I'm a real pussy!
