Scared to go overdue

I just have this feeling that I will be overdue and have to be induced and I really dont want that. Is anyone else afraid of this? I think about it a lot, like what if my body doesnt know how to go into labour on its own... you know? I know I still have 2 weeks til my due date, but I just dont feel like its going to happen anytime soon. I want to be able to go into labor naturally if at all possible.

Also, Im nervous that if I go overdue he is going to be really big and he wont be able to fit through and then I will have to get a C section which I REALLY dont want!

Is anyone else thinking these kinds of things?

Since I have a MW here in the US, these are not worries of mine because she does not induce, and has told me since the very beginning that going to 41-2 weeks is very normal. The 40 week pregnancy is a OB thing, not a nature thing. These little babies have a schedule all their own, so if my LO chooses to come at 42 weeks, so be it. Don't get me wrong, it will suck, and I will be soooo freaking ready.

Repeat after me: MY BODY WAS MADE TO DO THIS!! Don't worry about how big your LO may be if you go over. Your body was made to open up, big time, to get that baby out!

Not that far into my pregnancy yet, but I'm sure I'll have some of those feelings closer to time

I don't think you will go overdue, I really don't.

But I might if this baby doesn't show up until Thursday (final eviction notice).

You can refuse to be induced I think (although the thought of being as overdue as my mum was with me is alot more scarey than being induced).. I'm gonna try and refuse anyway. I'm so afraid of them because I know how many end up in cesarean sections. Then again, when I'm overdue I'm sure I'll want this fatty out ASAP.

@ final eviction notice.

Yeah, you can refuse to be induced. The reason they don't like you going over is because apparently thre placenta isn't as effective after 42 weeks. But if you refuse being induced they just monitor you and baby really closely to make sure everything is ok. Someone correct me if Im wrong?

If I go over Ill probably refuse it, because Im terrified of it too. I think the only reason I would would be if it was unsafe for baby to still be in there.

Hopefully it wont come to that for you hun *hugs*

Nope, you're absolutely right, Linzi; My mum is overdue atm and is refusing to be induced because in her last pregnancy she went overdue and had a horrible experience of being induced... They are monitering her closely and no signs that anything is wrong yet - she still plans on having a home birth.

Your babies will come when they are ready - Trust in that x
