Well I went to the doc last Wednesday to tell him that I had had a lump in my throat since i got pregnant and he told me to go away and come back when it got worse. I pleaded with him and said it was worse and I was choking on it at night! He still told me to come back when it got worse!

I immediately booked an appt to see another one and that was today. Straight away he said - looks like your thyroid - and i reminded him he did some thyroid tests in jan. He looked at the results and there it was! Hypothyroidism! I have had it all the way through my pregnancy and no one bothered to check the results!

Without treatment, hypothyroidism causes underdeveloped brains in babys, increased chance of miscarriage and a whole list of nasty nasty things!

Since my last scan showed my baby had spinal bifida and a severely undersized head - i am now totally convinced he has an underdeveloped brain!

I am devestated - i wont know anything until thursday. Why me????

Thats disgusting. I can't believe something like that happened. I would seriously think about complaining to someone.

I guess the good thing is that you persisted and that now something can be done. But you shouldn't have had to do that in the first place.

That's terrible that they've had your results all this time and haven't looked at them!!

iam so sorry, i really hope you get the results you want on thurs. i would def take this further as i think its absolutely disgusting that no one bothered to check your reults so it would not have come to this, thats what doctors are meant to be there for.

I'm used to working with them.

Sorry you've found out you have thyroid problems this far on when the tests were done months ago. Definately put a complaint in, that's what's needed more.....people who stand up.
