| DH says that if it is any consollation, when he was at college he knew someone else that had spina bifida who's mother had a similar problem - thyroid related - that was thought to have caused his condition; They sued and got neglect charges - it should have been checked up by the doctor. As a result the doctor was made to pay all medical charges up to the age of 21. So there may be hope that you could sue if you want to? I'd definately reccomend getting some legal advice on the issue anyway.
As an aside, DH who knows many people with spina bifida and other related disabilities knows what a happy and fulfilled life can be achieved, (look at him with his muscular dystrophy...) and whilst he offers his consollation and best wishes, he says not to be scared; you still have a very special time ahead of you, if not more so. |
