I think it probably has a lot to do with which doctors and midwifes are on at the time as to how we are treated. The other psoter had a great experince. I am consultant care and i am very happy with her a the gwent. She has treated me before. Plus 2 of my friends have premiture babies and where treated well. But i have heard of people having bad expeiences at the gwent.
It probably all comes down to the staff at the time.

Im also under consultant care... I had to have an emergency c-section and the staff on the post theatre ward for the first few hours i cant fault them but as soon as i got put onto the normal ward the care was terrible. No one showed me how to brestfeed my son so i had to learn myself and luckily my son latched on by himself... I was given no hot food at all just sandwiches as they had run out of food! When myself and a few other ladies asked for help you heard the midwifes cursing saying they were on their breaks! So id rather not go back there because of those reasons! Hopefully ill have a straight forward birth and be able to come home within a few hours so i dont have to stay anywhere!

Slightly off topic....not had any of my bubs there, tho my eldest if he had waited one more day to arrive would have ended up being born there just like his mommy as I was due to travel "back home" to visit friends

I have always been told that the Gwent is meant to be a bad place to give birth a lot of friends have told me not to bother and also is a bad hospital in general, I had to go there about 3 weeks back with the baby because the snow was to bad to get out to NHH and they didn't treat me very well and the doctor at the time laughed at my concerns for the baby and made me feel uncomfy and like I didn't know my baby but it does depend on who is on call at the time x

I think its so hard when it comes to hospitals to know which one to go to, more so cause it depends on whos working when you go in. I can honestly say that my experiences of the gwent have been fab every time i have been there. I have heard good and bad about neville hall hospital and trying not to let the bad put me off needing to go in if i have to. But it will be slightly different as my mw will be doing all my care during labour and birth then after when i get home. I didnt realise there was other ladies this close to me on bnb lol. Small world.
