awwww big hope you feel better soon. Try and persist with your pelvic floor exercises, they will get easier and you will be happy with the benefits it has when LO comes. I get kicked in the bladder and have to work through the pain xx

I think the more toned these muscles are before the birth, the easier it will be to go back to normal after the birth. Also it helps prevent accidental leakage when baby gets too heavy, or after birth.

My mw mentioned it once but my swimming mw says it every session. But then she gives us a huge list of exercises to do for labour!

A LOT of people don't actually get told about doing pelvic floor muscles at all, many midwifes just expect you to know and to be doing it. Stupid really. But you ladies should all start doing them, because not only do they REALLY help in labour but they also help you to get back into shape alot quicker after birth. xxx

Ive been doing them from quite early on but my MW never mentioned it to me. Just been doing it because it always says in books and magazines and stuff.

Might be TMI - when you go for a wee, the muscles that stop the flow if you squeeze them are your pelvic floor muscles. Someone told me the best excersizes for them is to lie on the floor on your back and lift your bum up but squeeze the muscles as you're doing it.

Its supposed to really help in delivery

Hope that helps. Wasn't sure the best way to describe it.

xxx
