Apparently girl + boys bits get swollen and even HUGE after they're born. Don't know if this could be the same? Also that some little girls bleed out their 'girly area' the first days of life because of the mothers hormones. Maybe if you're swollen so is your little girl?

My daughter's bits were red and swollen when she was born bless her but they soon went down so I can imagine it's the same inside the womb
