Horrible Night At Hospital - Blood + Possible Preeclampsia

Hello Ladies,

I had to go to hospital yesterday evening. After I had lots of blood come out (sorry tmi) about the size of my palm and bright red. We went straight to the hospital and I had to have a doctor have a look inside

He put this massive metal thing inside and then blasted a a huge touch on me to have a good look (how attractive) he took a swab and had to clear out the blood, which to be honest wasn't to bad, he was very gentle and it didn't hurt.

They monitored the baby and he is totally fine, I had zero contractions while on the monitor and my cervix is 'tightly shut'

My blood pressure was extremely high 140/92 but I said I was very worried so it might be that.. They wasn't to sure so they took blood and urine.

I have 2 traces of protein in my urine but my bloods all came back fine.

My fingers are swollen and even after about a 3 hour rest my blood pressure was still high so they have sent me home to rest and do a 24 hour urine sample.

I have to go back tomorrow. If I do have it they might have to get the baby out, im pretty scared, my mum had preeclampsia with both my brothers..

I had to do a 24 hour collection as they found 2plus of protein in a urine sample last week. I thought the urine was a little orange but think it was more concentrated in the morning, drink loads and see if it goes more yellow. Sure it will be fine just a bit of a worry i know. Keep us updated.

I think you should let your doctor know about the recent developments and the colour of your urine, just to be sure. They might tell you to come back in today. Good Luck

That sounds like a scary night !

I know it's hard, but try not to worry. They are monitoring you closely, you're full term, and if you did develope pre-eclampsia, baby will be absolutely fine if they deliver you now.
