Exactly hun, you will get by and as long as you and bubs are loved nothing else can touch you :-) My OH earns a very low income, i am now waiting for my MA to start ( when they get their fingers out their bums!) I have gone through my savings to buy things for bubs and pay bills whilst I have been out of work..literally nothing left! But on such a low income my OH has to cover a 700 mortgage and bills! I have paid half bills up to now, including gas, electric, council tax, everything. But its getting over the top. But my mum reassured me that she wouldnt see me go without i.e if i couldnt afford nappies or what not for bubs she would never let it happen xx

Hi hon
sorry if I'm speaking the obvious here but have you tried putting your mortgage on interest only - I've put mine on to interest only for 12 months and mortgage has gone from £900 to £300. It'll cost me about £20 extra a month after but hey ho - worth it I think.
We have thought about it. We will try to get by with paying the mortgage but if it proves too much for us, maybe this is the only way. We are on a fixed mortgage aswel because our idiot of an agent fixed it without our permission.

I try not to worry about money even though we don't have lots of it! Over the years I've just learnt that, somehow, you manage and you get by. And there is a part of me that thinks with kids it will be even easier - which may seem odd! It's just that when I think of the good things about being a kid they're always free or really cheap: going for a walk somewhere nice or to the park = free! And then meeting up with other mums at local children's centre = free!

THe other day I went into a charity shop to have a look at the clothes for baby and they were amazing! Hardly worn and some posh labels! If I knew the sex of the baby I'd have bought bagfulls!

Absolutely, our life will change and undoubtedly things will be more of a struggle financially, especially when I go back to work and we have to pay for childcare (EEK!) but it's made me think that I'm more determined than ever to spend quality time with my OH and LO and that needn't cost much.

Moneysavingexpert.com is a really useful site, too. And I now buy own cheapy label brands from supermarkets without noticing any difference.

Good luck - it will work out xx

I've been up since 5:30 this morning freaking out about money I'm on bed rest, so there goes 8 weeks of extra cash, plus I can't seem to manage to pay off my credit card, there's always something baby-related to take care of
