I'm puffy!!!

Is anyone else feeling a little puffy these days? I've definitely had some swelling in my feet and ankles throughout the second and into the third trimester, but over the past week it seems to have worsened. Of course I am totally freaked out about pre-eclampsia, but I also know that edema is a common aspect of pregnancy--especially towards the end.

My feet are particularly fascinating to me right now. This morning I woke up and told my DH that my feet looked like puff pastries. Then when I pressed into the top of one foot, the indentation stayed for nearly a minute. It was totally freaky and weird.

Anyway, just wondering if anybody else out there is feeling like the Stay-Puft marshmallow girl.

Also...when should I be less amused/fascinated and more concerned? I've heard that when your hands and face swell up, that's a warning sign...?

HOLD ON.......You can reach your feet to press in?? My god im jealous!! i have to apologise to my bump everytime i put socks on as its a bit of a back to the wall standing up then chair in front of me and then quickly bend and squish! it hurts like hell so have been making the most of the sunshine by wearing flip flops. My right hip is dodgy at the best of times and isnt flexible normally so that doesnt really help.

My ankles the last 3 weeks have been getting puffier and puffier as i dont think i put them up enough.I also get like a tight feeling in my calfs as if there isnt enough room in them.

I went into town last week and did a lot of walking and my fingers turned into fat sausages.......very weird and scary! but midwife seemed to think it was probably just because i was hot and my BP is fine.

I think its the combo of a few things then you need to worry

LOL, yes, I too am fascinated with pressing on my legs and seeing how long the indentation lasts! I think its ok as long as you don't suddenly swell badly in your face and hands.

I have been getting swollen ankles for a good few weeks now - some days if resting they are ok, but I used to find when I was sitting at my desk in work all day they would be quite bad at the end of the day. They also swell if I have been walking a lot. My left foot also swole (sp?) up more than the right one yesterday which was a bit alarming, but was fine this morning, so I am guessing I was just sitting awkwardly. The last 2 weeks or so, my hands have also been slightly swollen - not so much as to worry but a little irritating as this leads to my fingers & wrists aching - due to the increased fluid mw said. She didnt seem to concerned when I mentioned the swelling to her yesterday as it is only slight, blood pressure fine & no protein in water etc so I guess all thatis taken into consideration regarding pre-eclampsia.

My hands are just swollen enough so that I can't wear my wedding ring, other than that I am good so far.

Just keep an eye on it, and if it gets too bad, call your MW.
