I'm Currently Feeling: | What's going on 'up there'? It's been a long time since I've had any sort of concerns about my cervix or to be honest even checked it but today I felt a bit strange in that area. Not like LO ramming into it like usual but like a bubbly feeling (sorry, TMI) as if I was passing air through it (I know thats not possible).
Anyway I felt it to see what was going on and it feels really strange. It's really soft so you can't really feel it properly at all and I'm sure (although I didn't push it) that you could put your finger very easily through it.
I don't really know much about what happens to your cervix at this stage. All I know is it eventually softens and you pass your mucus plug but I'm only 35 weeks. Isn't it a little early? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | My MW told me last week that my cervix was softening as well. I think it is totally normal for the end of pregnancy. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Totally normal. The cervix may be soft the entire pregnancy (mine has been) But it has been very closed (measure of dialation), and it is very thick (measure of effacement).
Mine is also very high. Wouldn't worry about it at all |

Yes as part of my normal fertility cycle I check my cervical position daily.
I stopped checking it daily after I got pregnant.
The last time I checked it, I was probably 27 or 28 weeks (maybe a month ago or so) and I found it hard with the bump because my cervix was sitting so high.
I'm not sure I would have any hope of finding it now if the last two Dr. appointments were any indication. The docs tended to have to reach in pretty far to find well enough for a full exam of thickness and status (open or closed). |
