you can get a sweep? Just wondering, as I want one asap!! Don't think they will give me one before my dd, will they?

Think it all depends where you are, i had one on tuesday ( 39+5 ) and could have had one week befor that but i chickend out,

but had to ask for this - if i hadent of ask'd i dont think she would have offered lol

with a lot tho they wont even consider it till 41 weeks

but defo ask

im hoping to get it when im 40+2 cuz the midwives are only in my doc's on wednesdays so i will have to be 39+2 or 40+2. will ask next wed when the earliest is! am really hoping i dont make it to 40+2 tho!!!

My doctor actually said he would give me one at 38 and if needed another one at 39 - IF my body is ready that is. So I guess he will do an internal and see what my cervix is like. You should just ask, as long as you are full term and your body is ready they may just do it?!

do u think it wud make a difference if i asked my doc instead of the midwife?

My consultant said she could do mine from 39 weeks onwards. My midwife said she wouldnt do it unless i was past my due date. So im going to ask the consultant to give me a sweep at 39weeks

Snap! We've posted the same threads! I think I will ask- i have an appointment tomorrow so will bring it up and see what they say. I just feel so ready now, i dont want to wait any longer!! It could still be another 4 weeks really.... sorry to depress us even more!

P.s Poppy is a lovely name!

Get your hubby to run his fingrs along and stretch a little wont hurt lol but make sure hands are sterile clean first. Tell him to feel for like a meshy substance and wiggle this.
