My Physio Referral... *rant*

arrived this morning. I got referred because my MW said it would be a good idea to learn how to cope with the pelvic pain better and ease it off a bit.

Anyway, I got a letter yesterday saying I had to ring for an appointment which is fine, but it then went on to explain my appointment to me.

Apparently I have to sit in a group of other women who are suffering from SPD and talk about how it's affecting our lives and how to ease it. Then the physio judges everyone and chooses some people to have one on one physio. The rest will be sent home without anything.

Is it me, or is that just completely ridiculous? I don't mind sitting and talking to other women and finding out ways of easing the pain, but being judged by someone as to whos in the most pain and deserves treatment more than someone else?

I suppose thats the NHS for you.

thats disgusting whos to say someone doesnt just lay it on with a trowel just to get treatment from the physio leaving someone who is actually in genuine pain sitting on the sidelines.
id complain... saying that its all i do lately lol.

Haha believe me Im the same. I dont usually complain about anything but this week Ive written letters to Barclays bank, Megabus and Transpennine Express Trains lol. They all deserved it tho tbf.

The thing that gets me about it is that we'll have all been referred there, so we're all in need of it, so why should some of us not benefit from it?

Im tempted to go in and fake a lot of pain, but then Id feel bad for the ladies who are really ill with it. So I wont.

I'm so sorry that this is how it is being dealt with. It's disgusting. Treatment should be availible to everyone! Who really know's how much pain one person is in? We can only judge our own pain.

I hope they help you though xxxx

Thank you.

It sounds awful but at the moment Im just counting down until the baby arrives and then this can all be over with. I can handle pain better than a lot of people otherwise I wouldnt be sat at work right now.

Just can't wait for him to be out. Once he's cooked properly anyway

Wow i thought it was just the idiotic NHS down south.
It seems very unfair, how can they catagorise peoples pain when they are just herded in and compared against another!

My mum had the same sort of thing.....she has Fybromyalgia, raynards disease, copd,a twisted spine and pelvis, her left hip has bone deformities on it dues to 2 weeks after she had me she stepped off a chair funny and they didnt diagnose her correctly etc etc the list goes on.....anyway she is in chronic pain most of the time and cant give her much for it. She was offered physio but that makes the pain worse for days after.
She is a proud woman and tries to get on with daily things as best she can with her stick, zimmer etc CONSIDERING SHE IS ONLY 55!
The thing that fucks me off big time (sorry about language) is that she has tried to claim disability for these things for about 5 years now and they keep refusing her because they see her getting by. One argument was that she doesnt have a car and has to walk to the shop about 800 metres away and she said it knackers her out.......the doctors response was "sit down and have a rest on someones garden wall halfway there" !!!!!
She has to try to get on with things as she still has my little bro with her who is 13 and he is diabetic.
It makes me angry when i hear of failures in the system like yours too,its like they are just trying to save money......what do we all pay our taxes for?!!

I hope you complain and get the one to one treatment you deserve
sorry big moan xx

Ive booked an appointment for Thursday. We'll see how it goes.

Even if I don't get to see a physio hopefully someone will be able to tell me how to sleep through the pain!

The ironic thing is, the hospital bit I need to be at is about a mile from the bus stop, so I don't have a clue how Im going to get there.
