Nice induction stories please.

I'm booked in to be induced at 3:30 this afternoon and I'm absolutely bricking it.

I've got high blood pressure so don't seem to have any choice about being induced but I'm so scared and I really had my heart set on a natural labour.

I really wanted to labour at home for as long as possible with candles, my gym ball, chilled out music etc and then have a water birth when I got to hospital - but none of that is going to happen now.

All my friends that have been induced are full of horror stories about the pain and that I should demand an epidural as soon as I can.

Please share any good experiences of induction. I wish I was more excited about meeting my baby soon but at the moment I feel really scared and finding it hard to think about the positive. All I can think is that I'm going to be writhing in agony for the next 48 hours.

Please help me - there must be some good stories out there. I've just been reading the birth stories section which has freaked me out even more as all the traumatic births seem to have started with inductions.

Im getting induced tomorrow & i cant wait dont worry about it hun, just think of it this way u'll have your baby soon

not from personal experience... but my mum was induced with both myself and my brother. i thought being induced would mean a longer labour... dont know wer i got that idea from but its rubbish! my lil bro came so quickly they didnt even have time to give her an epi! she said if you make sure you are relaxed it helps, but being induced was more uncomfortable for her than painful.

I was induced at 38wks due to high BP with my daughter.... the pessaries were a little uncomfortable, and I had mild contractions for 18hrs before my waters broke, but they werent unbearable - paracetemol took the edge off (and the hospital wouldnt even say they were contractions, just "prostin pains"!)... after my waters broke (at about 4am), the contractions got stronger and I did end up asking for an epidural around 11am cos I hadnt had any sleep in over 24hrs but I think I probably could have managed it without if I hadnt been so tired! Liv was born at 125pm so 9.5hrs since my waters broke - not bad for a first labour!

Good luck! My friend had her labour induced at 38 weeks and she had her little girl pretty quick and she didnt have an epidural.

i was induced with my son....got pessary, went into proper labour about 6hours later, also had to get my waters broke and had the drip too as my contractions were irregular. i kept dosing off between all my contractions! 9 and half hours labour, and managed without pain relief and 2hours after the birth was saying i would do it again!
