Do's and Dont's when you bring baby home

Hello ladies. this is my first baby and I know there is alot of common sence out there about having a newborn but I thought we might start a thread about what to do and what not to do.
1. newborns dont use blankets
2. support the head
3. sponge bath until umbilical cord falls off.

I Know it sounds kind of stupid but I thought it might be interesting and educational to add the little things!!

Hey it's not stupid, there's lots of us first timers that might not know the basics! I'd love to hear more

Trust your instincts and forget about everyone that thinks they know better than you!

Ive always learned that it increases SIDS. So you put them in sleepers instead. When they get a little older ive been taught to swaddle them. Maybe others have learned otherwise. Exactly why I posted the thread .

If you swaddle (I do as my baby has a really bad reflex and cant sleep without it) make sure that they don't get too warm. If they seem warm - take off layers underneath the swaddle.
