I'm Currently Feeling: | Refusing a test? I posted last week that my doctor asked me to do that damn blood test for hepatitis B... I've had a blood test on last friday for preeclampsia and the nurse poked so many times that both of my arms have bruises... There are no veins available anymore! I'm really dreading that other blood test. I know it may be nothing, but damn I don't wanna do it...
Can I just refuse to do it? Or is it dangerous for LO not to do it? I don't know what to do... |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Are they 100% sure you haven't had this done yet? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I refused the quad screening and any unnecessary stuff. I'm not sure if the HepB is a serious one that has to be done though. Good Luck! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I had the Hep B test done very early on when they did all of my other bloodwork, not sure if it's something that has to be done or not tbh. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | that's so bizarre. they should have screened you at the beginning.
are your Hepatitis shots up to date? I would bring that up and tell them that if you have been vaccinated and have a record of it there really is no need to test. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | The test really should have been done very early in your pregnancy. It can be very dangerous for the baby if you are positive and pass it along. However, if you have been vaccinated, there should be no reason you are positive, especially if no one around you has had it as it is a very contagious disease. The baby should be automatically vaccinated as soon as he is born. I think if I were you- and had been vaccinated- I would definitely refuse. I've had enough rough poking and prodding already- my bruise from last time is finally fading! Good luck! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I am always like this with blood tests - it takes 10 plus stabs sometimes. It is better to just brave it and hope you get a nurse who stabs a little deeper and gets it first time.
If a nurse can't get it after two attempts, ask for another one, i always find the one who gets it, gets it in their first attempt.
Better to just go along with these things. Good luck |
