1 month to go, baby stopped putting on weight

Hello there,

My girlfriend and I are expecting a baby boy the 1st week of May.

She just got back from a routine scan yesterday and the doctor was confused as the baby does not seem to have put on any weight in the last week. The baby is also in breach position.

She had another session of monitoring (sorry I do not know the real term, he monitored the baby'sheart rate with a special monitor for 30 minutes). He didnt see anything abnormal.

He has taken some blood and she will have another scan in 2 days.

The baby is already small, 2.2kg. She has been smoking during the pregnancy, around 6-7 per day

We are now extremely worried. Particularly because the doctor was so confused as to the lack of increase in weight.

She has eaten well throughout the pregnancy (although too much, she has gained a lot of weight), and is otherwise in good health, normal blood pressure etc.

I just have this horrible feeling that there is something wrong with the baby, am I just over reacting or what?

Has anyone else here experienced this?

Thanks,
Craig

I dont know, sorry. I hope everything works out though. I know smoking during pregnancy can cause low birth weight in some cases, but then again a lot of smokers have preferctly healthy babies so it may not be anything to even do with that.

I hope they work out whats happening.
