I'm Currently Feeling: | I wish I could be in the same situation as you guys. Reading some websites they reckon after 30 weeks baby will calm down a bit due to lack of space, I'm not that lucky. I get kicked so hard it knocks my breath away. He kicks me first thing when I wake up, then again at work for a few hours, again when I get home and lie on the couch for a while and then normally around midnight I get woken up again. Its really painful and irritating.
They do say though that the thinner you are the more you will feel which I think in my case is very true (I was skinny to start off with and haven't put on any fat).
My hubby has actually phoned to check if its normal for a baby to kick so much. He was worried the baby was under some kind of stress. Got the same answer as you though, every pregnancy is different. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | My baby doesn't always move enough times a day but when she does move it's a relief. If you're ever worried (and you live in the UK, sorry if you don't) you can just call the hospital and pop down there and they'll check the baby for you! Heartbeat etc.
She usually has an active hour where my belly ends up killing me though. Ick! |

'Counting to 10. Many doctors and midwives recommend that mothers monitor their baby's movements once they're well into the third trimester. Here's the drill: at roughly the same time each day (if possible, the time when your baby is most active), lie down and keep track of how long it takes to feel 10 kicks, rolls, or flutters-any type of movement. Ideally, this should be less than an hour. Many women find it takes only a few minutes, depending on the time of day. If an hour passes without any movement, eat a light snack, lie back down, and try again. If you still don't feel anything, call your midwife. Remember, periods of 30-40 minutes with no movements are normal; your baby is sleeping. However, if you sit quietly you should feel the baby wake up at least once over a two hour period.'
| Just a little advice i found on the Pampers website :-)

I'm Currently Feeling: | I was talking to a lady who is 39 weeks today and when she asked if i felt the kicks, she said that she had hardly ever felt hers. She was a lazy little madam and just kicked rather pathetically every now again.
I am sure your LO is fine and just lazy and I have to say, sometimes i wish mine was a little more lazy! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Yes its def reassuring to speak to people who have had the same as what I'm going through at the minute!
With it being my first baby I have absolutely no idea what to expect and my friend (who is 10 days ahead of me!) is having a totally different pregnancy to me so I can't ask her for advice and reassurance because her baby is so active she never gets a five minute break from the kicking!
I'll def be sticking around these forums, seems like they are packed full of fab advice and top people, thank you all so so much! x | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | My LO is not much of a kicker, more of a wiggler and a stretcher.
You gotta do what is going to make you feel more comfortable though. |
