can you get a free ultrasound at 31 weeks?

I was wondering that if i ask my midwife for an ultrasound would she give me one?

I just get so paranoid that the baby isn't growing properly or there is something wrong.
I was looking into getting a private scan, but my partner is working so much, he wouldn't be able to come with me and he drives.
So just wondered if i could get an ultrasound at my local hospital where i would be delivering if i asked my midwife? xx

I think the midwife will only be able to refer you for a scan if it looks like something is wrong. But if you tell her you are concerned about baby's growth she may refer you quicker than normal to put your mind at rest.

the modwofe will only refer you if theres a problem or she thinks they might be a problem! as theres losts of ladies who need those slots more espically if your not measuring behind ect! thats how it works nr me any way! try to relax and not worry if ur measuring small shell monitor it!

you could always pay for a scan then your not taking a space that some1 else whos baby isnt growing could need! x

Its worth asking, but I doubt she would hun. Unless they think something is wrong with LO or your measuring very small / big I doubt you'll get one x

I highly doubt you'll get one unless the midwife suspects something is wrong. I have growth scans every 4 weeks because i have a terminal illness which could affect the babies growth

I agree, generally they're only done if a problem is suspected so if you just ask for one they'll probably say no xx

If they scanned people for reassurance, im pretty sure they'd never have time to fit scans in for people who actually require them.

They do scan for reassurance... because I have reassurance scans and this pregnancy is going well. They only do this for me though because I've had 4 MCs.
