Impatient - baby not engaged

Hi all,

I am at 36 weeks and am feeling really impatient for the baby to just be here. OH is away with work and can get leave only when the baby's here, so I am missing him so much and it is driving me crazy. I just wish the baby were here soon!

My Mom is staying with me, and taking care of everything so that's a relief. I am grumpy and exhausted, but she is managing. The baby had settled into a head down position by 28th week itself, but he hasn't engaged yet. I do wish he would hurry up!

This being my first baby, I was told engagement could happen weeks before labor, but since nothing has happened so far, I am worried if I am going to go overdue.

Just wanted to rant, thanks for reading

Cheers,
Amy.

I gave birth at 39+6 and Dylan did't engage until I went into labour. At my 39+3 app he was an inch above the brim!

I was told Baby was engaged yesterday at 39 weeks... MW followed that by saying 'she took her time didn't she!' But I've heard loads of tales of babies not engaging until labour too. Don't think you should worry too much, but having said that, I know how frustrating EVERYTHING is at this stage! x

At my MW appt yesterday my LO is still 4/5 palpable (on the brim) and not engaged. I'm going to continue using my ball and staying active but like a few others have said, I don't think it's necessarily a sign that you'll go overdue or anything. Some babies don't engage until the last moment! Having said that, I KNOW that something has happened because I have more energy AND more mobility so I think baby is heading south, just slowly!

LO isnt engaged for us either at the moment but ive heard of many people's LO not engaging until labor time. I am worrying aswell but think he might be trying as im getting all the sharp shooting pains down there and my MW told me about 2 weeks ago that its proberly him trying to nuzzle down there but not getting there at the moment. If that makes sence.
