Hello 3rd Tri - Low Lying Placenta

Hello 3rd Tri,

Just wondered how many of you were told you had a low lying placenta at your 20 week scan, and, for how many of you did the placenta move into its correct position at the follow up scan?

Thanks in advance

Louisa

I was told this at 20 weeks and was rescanned at 36 weeks and it had moved out of the way. Apparently it is quite a common thing and 9 times out of 10 it moves (thats what i was told anyway)

Mine was low at the 20 weeks scan. It was still low at 28 weeks. By my scan at 34 weeks, it had moved so everything is fine now :-D

I was told at my 20wk scan my placenta was completely lying on top of the birth canal and it was unlikely it would move. I exprienced no bleeding or anything and at my 34 week scan the placenta has moved completely out the way. I also have two friends who were told the same at 20 wks and their placentas moved also. Its quite common i think. Good luck with it all. xx

Welcome! Mine too, at 20 weeks. Had 36 week check scan the other day and it's moved. Good luck!

I had a low lying placenta at 20 weeks but I had a scan earlier this week which showed that the placenta has now moved up. I was told at the 20 week scan that in most cases a low-lying placenta does move up.
