Found out- 24 hours My midwife said if she had her way she would have no problem letting us go as soon as I felt ready but "for the pediatrician's sake, it will be at least 24 hours."
Of course in the UK you are visited for 10-14 days by the midwives after the birth, so you're not completly without support. I was in the hospital for 5 days with Kaya for various reasons and I hated it.
My midwife said if she had her way she would have no problem letting us go as soon as I felt ready but "for the pediatrician's sake, it will be at least 24 hours."
